- Membership in the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (a group of lawyers selected for their skill, experience, and high standards of professional and ethical conduct in the practice of real estate law).
- Appointment by Governor Richard Bryan as his representative to the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, a Nevada-California bi-state agency which Mr. Sharp served for two years, one year as its Vice Chairman, and one year as Chairman of the Nevada-Tahoe Regional Planning Agency.
- Election to the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Nevada for 9 years, and as President, 1982-1983.
- Membership in the American Bar Association House of Delegates, 1982-1986.
- Election as Master in the American Inns of Court Bruce R. Thompson Chapter in which he served as President.
- Listed in both real estate and corporate sections of the "Best Lawyers in America" and as a leading real estate lawyer in Chambers USA America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.
- Admitted to practice for the United States Supreme Court, 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and United States Tax Court.
- Selected as a lecturer for the State Bar of Nevada Continuing Education Programs on secured transactions, bank deposits, and collections, commercial paper, real estate transactions, and third-party opinions.
- Selected by University of Nevada and Western Nevada Community College to teach courses in business and banking law.
- Selected by the National Business Institute to prepare materials for and present lectures for programs titled Foreclosures and Repossession in Nevada, and Real Estate Law: Advanced Issues and Answers, and other programs.
- Selected as lead counsel for Shamrock Holdings in the sale of its interest in Harold’s Club property to Harrah’s which required coordinating the cooperation and participation of five other owners and resolving a myriad of title and related issues.
- Selected by the City of Reno to assist it in negotiating a documenting the purchase of the 1st National Bank building at First and Virginia Streets, including the negotiation of a long-term easement for parking in the adjacent parking garage.
- Selected by other attorneys to represent them in issues involving their personal real estate, corporate, and business matters.
- Requested to appear as an expert witness in defense of legal malpractice cases involving real estate and business issues.
- Selected by a client to document and close transactions that required organizing entities with multiple classes of membership to raise capital for investment in real estate projects in Nevada, California, Indiana, and Arizona.
DeArmond is a life-long Nevada resident. He graduated from the University of Nevada (B.A. 1960, Phi Kappa Phi); obtained his law degree from Stanford University (J.D. 1963); and was admitted to the Nevada Bar in 1963.
